Wafer Piston Type Silent Check Valve WSCV
The KV Controls WSCV Wafer Silent Check Valve provides automatic backflow prevention in water pumping systems. Its centrally guided, spring-assisted disc and short closing stroke help reduce check-valve slam and associated pressure surges. Available in DN50–DN300, the range offers several body and seat materials to suit different operating conditions.
WSCV Wafer Silent Check Valve for Water Pumping Systems
The KV Controls WSCV Wafer Check Valve is an automatic non-return valve designed to prevent reverse flow in pumping, water supply and distribution systems. Its wafer configuration fits between pipeline flanges, providing a compact installation.
A centrally mounted spring assists the guided closure element as forward flow decreases. The short linear stroke supports rapid closure, helping reduce check-valve slam and the pressure surges associated with abruptly stopping reverse flow.
Features and Benefits
- Automatic backflow prevention: Helps protect pumps and connected pipework against reverse flow.
- Spring-assisted closure: Supports a rapid response as forward flow decreases.
- Short closing stroke: Helps reduce check-valve slam and associated noise.
- Wafer configuration: Provides a compact valve arrangement between mating flanges.
- Expanded body: Provides space for flow around the internal closure assembly.
- Material options: Different body, disc and resilient seat materials allow configuration to suit the service.
Typical Applications
The WSCV is intended for:
- Water pumping stations.
- Water supply systems.
- Water treatment and distribution networks.
- Tank-connected pipework.
- Power-station cooling lines.

Temperature suitability depends on the complete valve configuration, medium and operating pressure. The stated seal temperature ranges do not establish the allowable temperature of every valve assembly. Available material and pressure-rating combinations require confirmation.
Selecting Your WSCV Wafer Check Valve
Correct selection should consider flow rate, operating pressure, temperature, installation orientation, flange compatibility and pump shutdown conditions. Performance against pressure surges depends on the complete pumping system.
