Tilting Disc Check Valve TDCV
The KV Controls TDCV Tilting Disc Check Valve provides automatic backflow prevention for water pumping and distribution systems. Its double-offset disc, external lever and counterweight work with a hydraulic damper to control valve movement and help reduce closing shock. The range covers DN100–DN2400, with nominal pressure options from PN10 to PN40, subject to configuration confirmation.
TDCV Tilting Disc Check Valve for Water Pumping Systems
The KV Controls TDCV is an automatic non-return valve designed to prevent reverse flow in water networks and pumping installations. It combines a double-eccentric disc with a lever, counterweight and hydraulic damping mechanism to manage opening and closing movement.
As forward flow decreases, the counterweight assists disc closure. The hydraulic damper allows adjustment of valve movement to suit the application, helping reduce closing shock and associated pressure surges. Correct settings depend on the pump characteristics, pipeline conditions and operating requirements.
Features and Benefits
- Automatic backflow prevention: Helps protect pumps and connected pipework against reverse flow.
- Double-offset disc: Designed to reduce friction at the sealing interface during movement.
- Hydraulic damping: Provides adjustable control of opening and closing movement.
- Lever and counterweight: Assists closure as forward flow decreases.
- Installation options: Lever positioning can be arranged on either side, with a dual-lever option available on request.
- Replaceable disc sealing ring: Retaining-ring access allows seal replacement without removing the valve body or disc, subject to safe isolation and access.
- Protective epoxy coating: Helps protect coated internal and external surfaces against corrosion.
Typical Applications
The TDCV range is intended for:
- Water pumping stations.
- Water supply networks.
- Water treatment and distribution systems.
- Tank-connected pipework.
- Power-station cooling lines.

Available combinations of size, pressure rating, seal material and seating arrangement require confirmation. Temperature suitability depends on the complete assembly and operating pressure. Dimensions for sizes above DN1200 and PN40 configurations should be confirmed against an approved drawing.
Selecting Your TDCV Valve
Specify flow rate, operating pressure, temperature, pump shutdown conditions and installation orientation when requesting a quotation. Lever clearance, counterweight position and hydraulic damper settings must suit the installation.
Pressure-surge performance depends on the complete pumping system; valve selection alone does not guarantee elimination of water hammer.
